NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) 

Non-destructive testing is to identify potential abnormalities underwater and meet inspection requirements for fixed concrete, steel structures. SMADS has the capability to undertake underwater non-destructive testing/monitoring/inspection of any onshore structure. We have qualified staff that holds the CSWIP 3.1U and 3.2U diver inspection certification that allows us to perform class surveys on all vessels and moorings that require this class inspection requirement. The Cygnus subsea multiple echo ultrasonic thickness gauge allows the diver to perform measurements through coatings up to 20 mm thick, measure uncoated surfaces with heavy back-wall corrosion/ pitting, and the capabilities to relay data to the surface through an underwater umbilical.
